Power Setup​

RockBLOCK RTU is designed to be attached to be powered most of the time. However, the device also features an internal rechargeable battery that's used should external power be lost. Battery life depends on how the RockBLOCK RTU is configured.

Connecting to Power​

To power the device simply wire the positive and negative cores of the cable into your power supply. The device will run on any voltage between 10V and 24V DC, drawing a maximum of about 700mA under normal operation.

  • Input Voltage: 10-24V DC (Able to withstand +30% voltage variation for IEC 60945 compliance)
  • Power Consumption: 700mA max at 12V plus very low current sleep mode (<30mA)

Power Supply Protection and Compliance​

For compliance purposes, it is mandatory that the device’s power supply is protected by a 1A slow blow fuse installed in line with the positive supply.
