Power Setup
RockBLOCK RTU is designed to be attached to mains power for most of the time. However, the device also features an internal rechargeable battery that's used should external power be lost. Battery life depends on how the RockBLOCK RTU is configured.
Connecting to Power
To attach the device to mains power, wire the positive and negative cores of the cable into your power supply. The device will run on any voltage between 9V and 32V, drawing a maximum of about 700mA under normal operation.
- Input Voltage: DC (9-32V)
- Power Consumption: 700mA max at 12V plus very low current sleep mode (<30mA)
Power Supply Protection and Compliance
For compliance purposes, it is mandatory that the device’s power supply is protected by a 1A slow blow fuse installed in line with the positive supply.
