General Purpose Data String

Ground Control's Sense Switch supports processing up to 16-bit general-purpose serial data fields, including the ability to recognise specific data strings with checksum validation for reliable and accurate data capture.

The 16-bit fields can be mapped to our Insights channels, enabling integration with a wide range of input devices. This enhancement improves precision and adaptability for telemetry, monitoring, and custom data applications and connectivity with Ground Control's Insights platform.

The Sense Switch supports serial data in the following format:

important

Each channel accepts 5 digits from 00000 to 65533 on each channel with no foreign characters and comma separated between channels.

STX GP0, GP1, GP2, GP3, GP4, GP5, GP6, GP7, GP8, GP9, GP10, GP11, GP12, GP13, GP14, GP15, ETX CHECKSUM CR LF

Where STX=0x02 and ETX=0x03

Sample Data String: STX00000,00000,00000,00000,00000,00000,00000,00000,00000,00000, 00000,00000,00000,00000,00000,00000,ETXCHECKSUMCRLF

To use the Sense Switch with a device supplying data in this general-purpose format, set the external options to "Off" in the Connect App. For devices providing specific data strings with checksum validation, the 16-bit fields can be directly mapped to our Insights channels for data integration.
