📣 Firmware Update:
Firmware Version 1.13.1 is now released! Please follow the link here or update via Cloudloop Device Manager.

Factory Reset

RockREMOTE units using version 2 PCB's and above (Majority of shipped units) have a simple method to allow the unit to be returned to factory default settings.

(Units with pre-version 2 PCB's require a more complex factory reset procedure, please contact technical support for details)

important

A factory reset wipes the entire data partition on the RockREMOTE. As a result, the installation library will also be erased. This library is required for OTA diff updates. If you need this feature, do not skip the final step.

Procedure

  1. Power off

  2. Remove the panel. (Right hand end plate on RockREMOTE, blank end plate on the Rugged version)

  3. The gasket should be retained in the end panel. Take care not remove or stretch the gasket and keep it free from contamination.

  4. Carefully short the pins of the Factory Reset header on the main PCB (using a jumper or any conductor - see photo below)

  5. Power on and wait for the status LED to stop flashing.

  6. Remove the jumper/short.

  7. Re-install the panel. Extra care needs to be taken on the Rugged version. Check the orientation (seal inner tab aligned with the PCB) and torque the screws to around 1Nm.

  8. Update or re-install the current version using the .rr-inst which can be downloaded here. This is to preserve an update on the RockREMOTE which is used for OTA diff updates. If this step is missed after a factory reset a OTA update will not be possible.
