Configuration Examples
Overview
This page highlights some of the common configuration requests, a list of all configuration options is available in the NMEA Parameters section.
$GSSET & $GSRSP - Setting Configuration
Changes to the RockBLOCK APNT configuration are performed with the $GSSET command, with the option to change a parameter's value either for the current session (value '1' - volatile memory) or permanently (value '2' - non-volatile memory).
The unit will respond with a $GSRSP sentence indicating the success/failure of the configuration change.
$GSGET & $GSPAR - Reading Configuration
To read the current configuration from the RockBLOCK APNT, use the $GSGET and the information is returned with a $GSPAR sentence.
Change Kalman Filter 'mode'
Changing to 'STATIC' mode:
$GSSET,2,101,2,1,1,1*57
Changing to 'DYNAMIC' mode:
$GSSET,2,101,2,1,1,3*55
Update Kalman Filter 'dynamic model'
To set the dynamic model of the Kalman Filter, you use the $GSSET command for parameter '102', and the values are in the order of VTC, HTC, VVSTD (VSS), HVSTD (HSS).
$GSSET,2,102,2,1,4,30.0,300.0,10.0,100.0*4C
The above is telling the unit to apply the fixed wing aircraft setting: VTC: 30.0 HTC: 300.0 VVSTD: 10.0 HVSTD: 100.0
See our recommended presets for different scenarios and explanation on the filter settings so you can define your own preset.
Update Licence Key
The following command is used to update the RockBLOCK APNT licence key:
$GSSET,2,5,2,1,1,<YOUR_KEY>*<CHECKSUM>
Check Licence Key Expiry
The expiry date of your licence key is provided with the $GSSYS sentence in Field 9 as seconds since the GPS Epoch:
$GSSYS,3,7193,7193,64,0x033,0x033,0,1502840827,0,2048,C3.7.0.40086,,,\*16
In this example the expiry date is 20th August 2027.
