Orientation

The RockFLEET’s Iridium/GPS and optional GSM antennas are located on the top ‘domed’ part of the casing. To ensure optimal satellite signal reception, the RockFLEET should be positioned upright with a clear line of sight to the sky.

Typically, the RockFLEET is mounted on a car dashboard, rear window, or affixed to a pole or rail. Avoid placing the device in obstructed areas such as dense forests, inside vehicles, or buildings.

Once powered on, the device will attempt to obtain a GPS signal. The time required to acquire a signal can vary: it may take a few minutes if the device is being used for the first time or after a long period of inactivity, and just a few seconds if the device is used regularly.
